I think Heavens Open may have been my favorite. When I found out that they've only started four months ago, I was surprised because they sound really good! Unfortunately, they didn't have any CD's to sell, and I really wanted one.
Next up was Da Camp, performing songs they sang for us during Chapel, and featuring Desman, Paco's little brother, as the main man on the stage.
Afterwards was Marcella Rose. They may have been my second favorite- it's between them and Da Camp. My favorite song from that night was "Say It Ain't So," they had so much energy! I wish I caught it on video before my phone died.
Then, The Elements took over the stage to top off the night. They had a great "jazz fusion," as they like to say, and played songs like "Blind Slide" and "The Chase." I especially liked "The Chase" because when they played it, I could picture in my head perfectly how it would match an actual chase- the tension and being caught and all.
So, shoutout to these awesome musicians, find them on Facebook and Instagram. I'm expecting the next JazzHipRock Festival to be even better.
