Despite the fact that I grew up in NCA, I didn't shed a tear when I realized that this was my last spring concert. Ever.
The show started off with Glee Club first, and I was nervous because my note was off at some parts. However, we managed to do well to "Praise God" and "Gotta Be."
Next was band. I had my doubts about the advanced band playing with the intermediate band, but they proved me wrong! They sounded great, especially the percussion section, and the dynamics were there. It sounded lovely.
After that, Gueshnia performed a monologue from Dirty Dancing about a young girl who wants to her pursue her career and not her father's (sounds like someone you know?).
Next, I believe, was dance. They put on a lovely multi-cultural dance. The Chinese piece was my favorite because the music was beautiful and peaceful. But afterwards was "Break Every Chain," and it was very powerful at the end. Their choreography was great.
Then, Nina and her friend did a comedic duet that reflected what it was like to live in the 70s. It was pretty funny.
Lastly, choir, as always, did a fantastic job. They sang "Lean on Me." Also, they had a little band going for the last song, and it sounded amazing.
I enjoyed each moment. This was a great way to say goodbye to spring concerts.
